Grant to Samata Books

Grant to Samata Books

Indic Academy is pleased to extend a grant  for the noble work being carried out by Samata Books– a publication house based in Chennai, publishing Sanskrit Classics with English translations.    Samata Books was founded by Sri V. Sadanand, a renowned Indian freedom fighter, in the year 1977.  His son Sri Krishna Velury is continuing in his father’s steps by working to make available to the public, important Sanskrit classical texts, and Indic Academy is proud to contribute towards the noble work being carried out by Samata Books through this grant.

The funds from the grant by Indic Academy will be used towards the republication of the following titles:

  1.       The Bhagavad Gita (Commentary Of  Adi Sankaracharya, Translated Into English By Sri Alladi Mahadeva Sastry Ji).
  2.       Adi Sankaracharya’s Prabodhasudhakara, Translated Into English By Sri Samvid.

This grant has been made possible by a grant made in turn by Aditi Banerjee, a long term benefactor of Indic Academy. We are grateful to her for her constant support to all our activities.
