Launch of an Ashram at Brahmagiri, Coimbatore

Launch of an Ashram at Brahmagiri, Coimbatore

Indic Academy has recently established a Center for Consciousness Studies and Inner Transformation with a focus on developing advanced courses in Executive Coaching, Yoga and Vedanta. This is to address the need, in each of these disciplines, for a well designed curriculum delivered by a qualified teacher, rooted in our tradition. We believe that inner transformation happens when seekers pursue their study for an extended period of time in an ashram setting with a daily routine that cultivates both discipline and ‘Shraddha’. That is why we have been working on long term programs that fulfil the above two requirements and offer authentic, immersive and transformative learning.

We are pleased to announce the construction of an ashram, at the foothill of Brahmagiri a mountain in the outskirts of Coimbatore, for Swamini Atmaprakashananda from the lineage of Pujya Swami Dayananda Saraswati. The ashram will be built over 4.5 acres of land with accommodation for 36-48 students. It is expected to be completed in 18 months and the first programme will be launched in the first quarter of 2023.

Commenting on the development, Hari, the Founder of Indic Academy, said,

“Vedanta is India’s greatest gift to the world. Spiritual but not Religious is a fast growing phenomenon that has spawned several unqualified teachers to meet the demand for our wisdom. The world needs spiritual masters trained from our traditional sampradayas.

At Indic Academy, we have a strategy for individual transformation – ‘self, selfless, Self ’ – to enable public intellectuals discover and nurture their “self” – aptitude, passion and choosing the right career path. We nurture them to work for a larger cause and become ‘selfless’ cultural leaders and entrepreneurs, We then enable the pursuit of their true “Self” through an authentic spiritual path. With the establishment of this ashram we are making a small but significant step in enabling more seekers to discover their true “Self” under a qualified Guru.

We are also working to establish more campuses that will offer Yogacharya and Executive Coaching programs. As Indic Academy transforms into a research centric institute for global indigenous knowledge, we are pursuing a three pronged approach to deliver the courses that are developed by us through a) our online platform b) Centers for Indic Knowledge to be established at various Universities and Institutions c) boutique residential ‘campus-ashrams’ either our own or at existing gurukulams/ashrams. It is a unique model that enables scale as well as personal attention, one that is suitable for Indic Knowledge which lays emphasis on Guru Shishya parampara.

This has been a long cherished dream, one that has the blessings of Pujya Swami Dayananda Saraswati.

The role of IA will only be to facilitate the building of the ashram. All the programs will be offered and conducted independently by and under the guidance of Swamini.”
