Indic Film Utsav is delighted to announce the 2024 slate of films. 45 films from 11 different languages that are mostly from India and all about India, have been lined-up for the viewing pleasure of audiences all over the world. As previously announced, Indic Film Utsav is hosted on a highly secure DRM-enabled OTT platform to prevent piracy. Films will be available starting from November 14th at 10am IST through to 17th at 10pm. There is no Admission Fees for the entire event.

Features include the wonderful 2023 period drama Shyamchi Aai while documentaries are really good with Mic Drop and The Language of Tides. This year we added a layer to our hitherto OTT festival. In Dallas on November 16th and 17th, which are the last two days of our 4-day festival, we will be screening three award-winning films that are yet to be commercially screened anywhere in the world.
We are proud and thrilled to announce the premiere screenings as follows-
• Gandhi Thatha Chettu (Gandhi and the Grandfather Tree) is an indie Telugu Narrative Feature produced by Mythri Movies, a well-known film production house in India.
• Outhouse is a Hindi Narrative Feature starring Sharmila Tagore and Dr Mohan Agashe, both of whom are well-known actors with incredible celebrity recognition.
• Pink Belt is an English Documentary directed by award-winning director John McCrite and produced by Los Angeles-based producer/director Aditya Patwardhan.
The Dallas screenings are being helmed by a team of Dallasians – Megha Vyas, Srinivas Dasu, Trivikram Gajulapalli, Ismail Penugonda, Ananth Yayathi, Sumeet Borwankar. Manikant Gaur, a senior IT executive from California has come onboard to lead our technology track.
Besides the screenings, we have put together a 90-minute panel discussion with US-based filmmakers/producers to help young filmmakers understand the challenges in pitching a film, writing room, funding/producing and then finally distributing their film. This event is coordinated by Vishy Putcha, who joined the Indica Pictures team to drive this initiative.
