Indica Pictures is thrilled to announce the finalist team for the much-anticipated K Viswanath Documentary project.

Filmmaker and Academician Kiranmayi Indraganti and well-known playback singer and subject matter advisor Parthu Nemani are coming together to collaborate to bring this remarkable project to life.

The K Viswanath Documentary aims to unravel the genius of the iconic auteur, Sri K Viswanath, whose contributions to Indian cinema are unparalleled. This documentary is conceived as a 3-part tribute to Sri Viswanath’s extraordinary legacy through captivating storytelling, interviews, and behind-the-scenes glimpses.

About the Team

Kiran Indraganti is a documentary and feature filmmaker and academician in film direction and screenwriting. She holds a Ph.D. in film studies from the University of Nottingham, United Kingdom, and an MFA in film production from York University, Toronto, Canada. She teaches at the Srishti Manipal Institute of Art, Design and Technology, Bangalore. Kiran has two feature scripts in development and is working on two documentaries currently.

Parthu Nemani is an Indian playback singer with a rich classical music background. Parthu had the rare opportunity to work with Sri K Viswanath for over 20 years. He composed songs for the national award-winning film Swarabhishekam, both of which were penned by the auteur himself. Parthu had the unique opportunity to be the interviewer/anchor for Viswanadhamrutham the inspiring TV series on Sri K Viswanath that delves into the inspiration, and the thoughts that shaped his films.

Indica Pictures will grant a sum of INR 300,000 to aid the script development phase of the project. Subsequently, Indica Pictures will support pitching to a suitable production house or OTT platform to produce the full documentary. As an alternative, Indica Pictures will advocate for the documentary on a crowdfunding platform, committing a sum of INR 3,00,000 as seed funding to initiate the fundraising process.
